Free Pick Friday

Good morning degenerates,

Week six in college football is here, and it is a HUGE weekend loaded with premier games. Four match-ups against unbeaten teams, six games between ranked opponents ensures that this will be a wild Saturday of football. Each Friday I will provide my thoughts on various game lines in order to inform you on the smart picks for the weekend (as well as to boost the confidence in my picks).

Can Amari Cooper help keep the Tide rolling vs Ole Miss?
Some intriguing games to watch Saturday include:

  •  Alabama (-7) at Ole Miss (3:30 est, CBS)
  •  Texas A&M (+2.5) at Miss. State (12:00 est, ESPN)
  • Stanford (-1.5) at Notre Dame (3:30 est, NBC)
  • Oklahoma (-5.5) at TCU (3:30 est, FOX)
  • LSU (+7.5) at Auburn (7:00 est, ESPN)
  • Nebraska (+7.5) at Michigan State (8:00 est, ABC)

Alabama (-7) at Ole Miss: Ole Miss has the weapons on offense and a stout defense to limit Alabama's offense and keep this close. Couple that with Alabama quarterback Blake Sims going on the road for the first time, against a top ten team no less, conventional wisdom suggests Ole Miss is the play. However, Alabama's offense is balanced enough to rely on their potent rushing attack, and their defense is still one of the best in the country. Pick: Alabama -7

Texas A&M (+2.5) at Mississippi State: This is a battle of unbeaten teams, both with surprising road victories against South Carolina and LSU, respectively. Mississippi State quarterback Dak Prescott had a monster game against LSU's defense, and A&M freshman quarterback Kenny Hill has shown he carry A&M's prolific offense. I think this will be a shootout, with A&M pulling it out in the end. Pick: Texas A&M +2.5

Stanford (-1.5) at Notre Dame: Notre Dame has looked strong in its first four games, although some of its victories (Michigan) do not look as strong as initially perceived. The gametime forecast looks rather dicey (mid 40s, high chance of rain), so this could be a low scoring, defensive battle. Stanford has a strong rushing attack featuring Remound Wright and Barry Sanders Jr., which will be an interesting matchup against Notre Dame's strong rush defense. I expect Notre Dame to come out on top. Pick: Notre Dame +1.5

Good luck to all of you (except those picking against my picks), please comment below your thoughts on any of the games this week.
